 |  Hello from Bonnie Scotland.I had the great pleasure of attending this years Almelo City Cup as part of Ardler walking football club.Although we couldn't raise enough players to compete we were made very,very welcome from yourself and all the volunteers who helped make this such a fantastic experience. You did manage to arrange for us to play with Old Army Genk on the Friday before we had to depart to catch our flight home. This made our experience even more enjoyable !!!!! I cannot thank you all enough for the excellent organisation and fun over both days. We hope to attend every year,if possible, and will recommend to anyone we know to take part in your event. I was very impressed with Heracles Almelo stadium as i was with the little bits of Almelo we managed to see.Beautiful part of your country which i hope to see more of in the future. | We have just returned from The Almelo City Cup 2018. The Grimsby Ancient Mariners are proud to have taken part in our second Almelo Cup. The organisation was excellent and the football was competitive but friendly. The Preston Palace Hotel can not be beaten as a base for our two teams in the three days we were there. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was very good and the social events made the stay very enjoyable. We had a great time meeting the other thirty teams and made many friends. The Organisers of the Almelo City Cup have created something very special and we feel we are lucky to be invited and honoured to visit Almelo to play.in the competition. Congratulations on an excellent tournament and our feedback is change very little because it is so good. The addition of the partners programme was a very positive idea. A special word for HAS who were the winning team because playing for two years without losing is a magnificent achievement. | The squad of players from Grimsby Ancient Marners were playing n our first Almelo Cup and arrived not really knowing what to expect from the event. The whole event totally exceeded our expectations on every level. Everyone we met was so helpful and friendly, the organisation was excellent, the football was competitive but friendly, the refereeing was full of quality and the hotel was a wonderful place to socialise. All these things made the Almelo City Cup a very special event for everyone involved and Gold Star Heracles and their group of organisers and volunteers are to be congratulated on the superb event they put on for us. Every member of our squad had a fantastic four days and we feel honoured to have played in such a professional tournament when we thought our footballing days maybe be behind us.
